Appointment Policy

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate by appointment.  Clients are seen based on appointment time not arrival time. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.  Unfortunately, walk-ins cannot be accomodated.

For your convenience, drop-off appointments are available. A 'drop-off' means you could bring your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours. Usually we will ask you to drop off sometime in the morning so our doctor can examine the patient in between appointments or surgeries. Once our doctor has evaluated your pet, a staff member will give you a call to go over the recommended diagnostics and course of therapy.

Payment Policy

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered.  Hospitalized and surgical cases require a deposit at admission.  For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, CareCredit, cash and personal checks.  We do not offer hospital subsidized payment plans.  If you require extended payments, we recommend applying for CareCredit.  An application and information about the services they offer can be found at the link below.

Patient Arrival Policy

For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date.  Proof of vaccination will be required for all hospitalized pets.  Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet. We require that dogs be placed on a leash and cats in a pet carrier before entering the waiting room.

New clients should arrive fifteen minutes prior to their scheduled appointment time to allow for processing of new information.

Transfer of Patient Records

As per Pennsylvania law, all medical records including radiographs are the property of Ringtown Valley Veterinary Hospital.  Clients may obtain a copy of such by signing a medical record release form.  Records must then be picked up in person, as it is our policy not to mail or fax them.  Digital copies of radiographs are also available but may require 24- 72 hours advance notice.
