We maintain a complete, fully-stocked pharmacy for the convenience of our patients.  However, many people prefer to obtain their pet's medications from either online pet pharmacies, or when a human drug is prescribed, from their own local pharmacy.  We give you the choice, and in fact, we provide more written prescriptions for our clients than we fill in-house, allowing our clients to save up to hundreds of dollars a year on their pet's medications.

     In addition, we utilize the Veterinary Pharmacy Reference, a computer based pharmacy database that allows us to monitor potential drug interactions, and provide your with a written client information sheet that lists important information about your pet's medications, including:  precautions, side effects, drug interactions, approved species including extra label considerations, and overdose information.  This sheet is provided with each prescription filled in our hospital, but is available for written prescriptions on request.

     Whether filled at our facility or elsewhere, Pennsylvania pharmacy regulations apply and we adhere to their guidelines, including a valid doctor/patient relationship, prescription initiated and approved by the veterinarian, and appropriate laboratory tests when necessary or required by drug manufacturer.  As such, we reserve the right to decline a prescription request if these guidelines are not fulfilled.
